The body opens to what is in this moment, stretches into possibility. We need structure, form, ticking time that marks from life to death and season to season. But we also need to remember the space within it all - for it is in that space that we breathe ...
She's Head-Free And Happy
8 x 8, acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas. This one is for those of us who think too much....
She's sassy, but not arrogant. She hasn't lost her mind - more so stepped out of it for a bit. She still knows when to think (she's done plenty of that) - but she's also learned how to moooove by feeling, by intuition, by sashaying and dancing through the moment.
She's free and flowing, intelligent and intuitive, embodied and sensual, ... head-free and happy.
What's Love Got To Do With It
9 x 12, acrylic and foil on gallery wrapped canvas
A line from that song, "who needs a heart when a heart can be broken?".
After a broken heart, some would say, "not me". Before a broken heart, some would say, "not me".
I want to talk with those who, huddled in the corner from being wounded, barely able to stand, would look up at me, through red eyes and tear-stained cheeks, and choke out the words ... I do.
I need a heart, my heart. I need to feel, even if it hurts. I am willing to experience this because it means I am alive.
And I want to be alive.
