Linger Longer

In this moment, what do you feel?

In this moment,  who are you?

Linger longer.

In this moment, what do you feel?   What lies underneath the exhaustion or the anxiety or the excitement?

In this moment, who are you?  Who do you acknowledge beneath the letters of your name or the title of "mother" or "employee" ?

Linger a bit longer.

In this moment, what do you feel?  Is there a place, deep within, that rests in stillness as calm as the surface of the lake on a windless night?  If you can find it, do tears arise from its recognition?  Can you let them flow?

In this moment, who are you?  List everything you can think of, and then ponder: Who is the one aware of those items on the list?  Who is the "you" who recognizes "you"?

Linger longer in this space.

We do not spend enough time here.

Or perhaps, we do not spend enough time recognizing

that we are here

because it is only here

in this moment

that we ever truly are.

Namaste.
