It can be a lovely thing,
To focus on what might be, what could be,
or what was
in those times that everything was perfect
(and if only I'd appreciated it then....)
And dreaming has its place, no doubt.
But we spend so much time asleep
that we've become lost in the dreams.
Wandering through our own or
because we can sense that something is off
as the body knows in the middle of the night
when it is dreaming
So stop. For just a moment,
Stop dreaming and start noticing.
Notice what is right in front of you.
Notice what is right within you.
This thought, this sensation in your chest,
this color off to your right.
